'We want oversight': Leaders respond to Western Mass. police officer suspensions

A former West Springfield police captain accused of groping two co-workers at the Holyoke St. Patricks Parade last March. A Springfield police officer who hasnt worked at the department in nearly two years and faces criminal charges after using a stun gun on a cowering pregnant woman. A Holyoke police officer accused of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

These three current and former members of Western Massachusetts law enforcement agencies recently had their certifications suspended and whether they will be able to return to duty remains unknown.

The POST Commission is doing their job and well see ultimately what comes out of it, said Springfield City Councilor-at-Large Justin Hurst. We want oversight and we want individuals held accountable when they are in the wrong.
