Ashley Graham is more than just a supermodel and entrepreneur, she’s also a mom to three beautiful boys, two-year-old Isaac and newborn twins, Malachi and Roman. As she approached the birth of her twins in early 2022, she realized not only would she need to design a nursery, but because they recently moved to a new home, it was also time to update Isaac’s room. Graham and her husband, Justin Ervin ended up collaborating with Pottery Barn Kids to create spaces that weren’t just stylish but also functional.

In terms of design, Graham wanted neutral spaces that incorporated pops of colors including shades of blue and green to reflect her love of the natural world. Sustainability was also essential, so she opted for Greenguard Gold Certified furniture. This certification means that not only are the raw materials sustainability sourced, but that the products are manufactured in a way that emits minimal volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can be unsafe or unhealthy, particularly for infants and children.

A Learning Experience

Graham was excited to create a beautiful room for the twins to grow up in. Like any second-time mom, she had a much better idea of what her needs for the nursery would be this time. “I learned so much about what you need in a nursery with Isaac, since he was my first-born. It is so important to create an environment that is calming yet functional. Blackout shades are a must for a nursery,” she tells me.

The model also realized she didn’t have to design the room herself and working with the designers at Pottery Barn Kids would make the process far easier. “As we approached this new twin room with Pottery Barn Kids, we leaned on their design expertise to ensure that the pieces worked cohesively in the space and could be transitional through the years,” explains Graham, “The designs reflected our personal style and functional needs for all three kids, which is not an easy feat. The team was super knowledgeable when it came to helping us make our product selections.”

Even prior to the collaboration, she was already a fan of the brand. “I had a Pottery Barn Kids chair in Isaac’s nursery and knew I had to have a second one in the twins’ room, because I spent so much time in it with Isaac while nursing, reading, and snuggling.”

Pottery Barn Kids doesn’t just offer complimentary design services to celebrities and influencers, anyone can work with the brand on designing the perfect room in-store or virtually.

Isaac’s New Room

“Before the Pottery Barn Kids makeovers, Isaac’s room was more of a nursery designed for an infant and needed a refresh to fit his new life stage. He has his own personality and we wanted his room to reflect that,” says the model.

Graham got rid of her eldest son’s crib from her previous home and selected the Quinn Convertible Crib and Extra-Wide Dresser And Topper Set for his new room. This bed was a smart choice because it easily converts to a toddler bed when a child is ready for that next step.

She also chose the Jax Construction Organic Toddler Sheet Set, Pillowcase and Quilt. The adorable construction-theme print is fun and charming. Made of high-quality organic cotton, these linens are designed for safety (the fitted crib sheet has elastic around the top and bottom only, as opposed to the entire edge) as well as style.

Additionally, the model added a variety of decorative touches from the brand including plush pillows, a gallery wall, bookshelves, and rugs soft enough for sitting and playing.

A Nursery Perfect For Twins

Graham was excited to start the twins’ nursery with a blank slate. “We created a shared space with two cribs, a functional changing table and reading nook where we can all spend time together as a family,” she says.

Although Pottery Barn Kids has a generous number of options, she went with the Nash 4-in-1 Convertible Crib, Extra-Wide Dresser And Topper Set, and Dream Power Swivel Glider And Recliner. While Graham is happy with everything she chose, she tells me the glider is her favorite piece because it gives her a space to connect with her family. “As a mom of three kids under the age of three, the times I can spend with all of them at once are very special and important to me. I can fit all three kids in my lap for story time, which is a moment we look forward to every day.”

Graham picked the Belgian Flax Linen Baby Bedding for both cribs. This set is available in both safari prints and broken arrow patterns. It’s a timeless yet on-trend gender-neutral style that compliments almost any contemporary style nursery.
